And I see that you're able to subscribe to some subs too!

Aye, I subscribed to everything that WWIVnet had to offer. If I can get
to a point I plan on hosting a few boards myself. =)

Nice! Glad you are back. Wish I could have helped more, but I'm not up
to speed on the latest version of WWIV or what needs to happen on the
Linux version for network related tasks.
I still run a super "classic" setup over here, which under the hood is really WWIV 4.24a with bits of 4.30 in it and tons of mods.

I love the enthusiasm!
I just wish there was a way to gain more callers so the sube we have
would see more traffic...

Running the original WWIV before the internet explosion, I think that that is the exact version that I have backed up on my NAS.
Hopefully I can get to the point where I can help others with setup and configuration in Linux, at least that's my goal.
Technically, that is still what I am running. The core of 4.24a, some
4.30, and a boat load of mods. My setup still using the SIO drivers and using eComstation (as a VM). Like a blend of history and modern day -
since it is all running on VMware ESXi 6.7.

I'm still insanely jealous that you're running the 'original' code, and by that I mean when we had to pay for the right to modify the software.
Looking at my setup I still have Front Door and everything in the image, several programs from John Dailey that helped to automate a lot of
functions for the BBS, etc.
Maybe one day when this version of the system is at a 'pause' I will look
to see what happens when I introduce my old BBS to Dosbox =)

RE: Re: LOTW reporting
I had imaged my physical PC many years ago that ran OS/2 and moved all
the data and everything to a VM in ESXi. I moved from OS/2 to eCS
shortly afterwards as well.
The nodes of the BBS run on eCS 2.2 and all the tossing/D'Bridge etc is
on a Windows 7 VM. The eCS BBS nodes have mapped drives to the Windows
7 tossing VM and that is where their data lives. I just use eCS for the nodes to use the Ray Gwinn SIO drivers to make it available via telnet.
No native telnet in my old classic version.. lol

That's very cool.
In an effort to gain more personal experience in QEMU (as I want a good comparison to how that software handles emulation versus other, more 'common' hypervisors) I went and downloaded the FreeDos ISO and will
attach it to the mainframe and see what I can do with it.
Right now I am running VirtualBox that manages my server and BBS on the network. I want to incorporate a new system that I built for Proxmox for
the rest of the deployment ideas that I had in mind.
Gods, I really need a man-cave. =)
