    RE: Dial up tests!

I've been tinkering with some old dialup equipment and have been able to sucessfully connect at CONNECT 50666/ARQ/V90/LAPM/V42BIS.

I've had friends test externally and they're reporting 45k ish speeds which for voip is not bad. Not sure how stable though.

Star of the show is the AS5300 that provides the modem pool. Locally fed by an IAD2432-24fxs via T1 connection. For External VOIP dial in I have a freepbx machine with a Sangoma A102 dual port T1 card that routes the SIP calls.

As for what the others who have tested have I couldn't say.

What's your modem number? I'll give it a call to see what speeds I get.

Wow, that is what I used to dial into long ago in the very early days of the Internet. The local Baltimore County Public Library had dialup using that exact hardware and T1s. I used them to xfer WWIVnet packets back in the day to save on LD charges.

Are you using an emulated T1 these days? I didn't think Verizon or anyone offered them anymore.

:) Did you order quiet small fans to swap out the stock ones? I did that back when I ran a Cisco ASA firewall.

On my Supermicro servers, I use Noctua fan controllers.

I'm just using T1 cross over cables. No telco provided t1, all the copper pairs are long gone around here. The AS5300 has a quad t1 card, the IAD and the PCIE card in the freepbx box have 2 ports. It works out.
