Let's see some more BBS's listed here.

Hey Jimmy Mac, not sure how to do so. I tried following the github link
but it's a broken link. My WWIV BBS is not 100% ready, I had to put it
on pause for a couple weeks as I built my kiddo's and I's new PC's. But
I'd still like to get it posted (it'll motivate me to push harder to get something done ;)

I see! I just went direct to the Git repo and drilled into it to find the correct path: https://github.com/wwivbbs/docs/blob/main/docs/misc/bbslist.md
I'm certain that there is a more up-to-date list somewhere, maybe in the WWIVnet repo. Mark? Rob?
I wasn't aware there was a bbslist in the github repo. The regionsToo many area codes are being made due to the increase of mobile devices.
files are part of the WWIV source repo, which I used to update as new information on area codes was discovered. For some reason I cna no
longer update the repo - maybe I should add pull requests for those.

I think for new ones we should just say the region instead of the actual city.

Telnet BBS guide *I think* still scans telnet ports .. BUT I also think
that it's wise for each sysop to get on there and claim your BBS, then utilize the easy to navigate presonal customization of your BBS listing
(for those that don't know but may be reading).
love the url lol!Thanks!

That really is one of the best sources, but what I think would be really beneficial, would be for each node on WWIVnet to have a list of all the telnet addresses for all connected nodes.
Also wondering what it would take for an option or script to reach out
and ping the nodes on a regular basis and reprt back with an up/down flag that could be queried or posted.
It might be easier to keep the telnet list in a separate file, like what
was started using binkp.net. We sort of have that already and I have
been trying to keep that list updated.
Would you be able to send along that file to us when the network files (bbslist callout etc..) are sent out?
Or am I flaking and not seeing something that already exists..?

You should already have a binkp.net file in your network files
directory. It should be getting sent out with the bbslist.x files when
I send an update. At least that is what NETUP says it is doing.

How does FTN site like Mystic get updated Node Lists, are they sent out or do I need to D/L them someplace?
Yes, that's there with a FQDN, but not with the BBS ports, just the Binkp ports.
I'm looking for a quick and easy way to provide callers (and ourselves) with a list of FQDN's for their terminal programs.
Are any of us using a standard port for the Telner client? I'm not.
You can pickup the updated nodelist here:
https://github.com/wwivbbs/wwivnet/tree/master/wwivnet
Thanks!
Just went to that site the Nodelist (wwivftn.286) is over two years old,
is this accurate ?
Yes, but I just synched the latest update there just now. It should
show the file being updated now.
