I am wary of what kind of legislation will be process in terms of cannabis laws in both local and Federal circumstances. I think there might be some kind of ban on the buying of seeds so I have taken preventive action and purchased some seeds. I have a good grow tent and grow light to use which are currently dismantled but can be opened up. In Massachusetts the laws say basically so many plants per person so I usually grow some outside in the summer and inside in the winter (or both sometimes). I am particularly focused on raising clones for other people and I have more than a 90% success rate (closer to 100% with good conditions and sterile technique). I ordered some seeds for Bubbleicious plants which are my favorite hybrid. I will perhaps order some Maui Wowie for the summer because they are notoriously tall and can get over 12 ft under proper conditions. They will, of course, be planted outside. You can grow outside in this state if it's out back, sight unseen. But right now... "Winter is coming!"

Recreational states I've been to became that way through promises to schools that they'd get that money as well as provisions for limited personal growing. Florida couldn't pass the recreational law because they decided to allow for NO personal growing in favor of locking us into Florida grower only suppliers.

There will be limited personal growing on the next ballot ;)

I know this will sound like an aging boomer. I last smoked pot when I was a teenager in the 70s before joining the Navy. Since then, I've had multiple back injuries and a bunch of other body parts removed, including my right upper lung due to cancer last year. I lived on NSAIDs (and heavier hitters) for pain during my entire adult life.

When I retired in Virginia, I got a medical marijuana license from the state. I have it delivered to my door every month or two. I take a hit if I'm in pain or just in the evening before bedtime. I've evaluated many strains and intake methods, but a quick hit works best for me. I prefer the sativa strains for pain management.

I know from my childhood that recreational pot was usually very fun, but today I think it should at least be legal nationally for medicinal purposes with adults. The fact that you can have a few laughs while medicated is a plus!

I've tried growing many strains and hybrids over the last 10 years trying to find the perfect combination for sleep and pain. As a nurse, I've seen a lot of my "senior" patients utilize medical marijuana for their chemotherapy side effects etc. i.e., neuropathy, nausea etc., with great success. I still have friends who work for the government in Maryland who cannot talk about it, especially on the phone or via e-mail or text. I believe they still get tested periodically as well. I find this is a strange contrast and wondering if the whole thing will revert back somehow. It's quite benign and helpful for many.

Yep. I held a clearance since 1976, so smoking pot was never an option. My (our) current favorite is a strain called Afternoon Delight #8 (and Jack's Delight) for pain. My go-to has been Dragon Breath for the past couple years. It's a tad less strong than the other two, but it's generally available in the dispensaries.

I saw a post today from POTUS touting the benefits of CBD/THC, so my gut tells me it's not far from federal legalization. It's probably the pharmaceutical companies most opposed to broad adoption.
