I had a strange memory yesterday. I was trying to recall those "desert boots" I used to get when I was a teenage... I remembered Clarks Wallabees! Suede "chuckka boots" that was great with bell bottom jeans. And then... the memory! I was driving along Pot Spring Rd in Timonium Maryland with my girlfriend Jane. It was about 1976 and I am in my '73 white VW beetle. I was lamenting to Jane that I needed new shoes and I wanted to get some Wallabees. I drove over the hill and the road was tree lined, empty, and no traffic. I spotted a pair of shoes ahead in the road and slowed down to a crawl so Jane could open the door and look at them. They were new Clarks Wallabees. She scooped them up in the car and we drove on. She noted that they were size 9 1/2 which was my size. The Universe heard me.... This is a true story!
