I've used Amazon streaming for years but recently came upon an anomoly
when all of a sudden, we are locked out of all the Prime movies and TV
shows as they want use to both pay per episode and season. I double
checked with my Kindle Fire because it's basically the same thing yet everything is open and available. The culprit it seems is that my
country status has changed with my streaming Fire stick. I could tell
when, all of a sudden, all of the ads and commercials are in German.
It's kind of funny but I think I can nuke it or make it go back. Perhaps it's time to abandon Amazon alltogether :O
Your firestick should be using the geoip location based on your Internet provider. If it's coming up with anything else, it may be compromised.I'm wondering if it is compromised because I have gone to my Account, deleted my address and then configuring it back. Afterwards I deleted the cache for Prime and Paramount + and then rebooting everything. No change! So I ordered a new firestick. They are inexpensive.
Does your home router have any form of packet capture feature? or have
you ever used WireShark to see where your home IOT devices are really reaching out to?

What are you using for a router? Currently up to date with the latest firmware and security patches?I have an older Linksys. I'll look to see what's available for it. It's two band. I am looking at newer ones with some trepidation as I am hesitant to figure out the port forwarding on a new device but. I'm aware of the advantages.
other place (like through a VPN). Could any of that have happened?I have a VPN through Proton but they use domestic servers usually out of New York. My wife has a VPN with Malwarebytes but on her personal machine. This is downline from the router. The Firestick is on the wireless. I have a Kindle Fire which is basically another Amazon Fire device. I can watch Prime and Paramount with my Kindle and it works fine. Wouldn't it be compromised as well?

Just to be safe, you may want to search your router model and FW level against the lists of known exploits. Will do...
