As an "East Coaster", I thought I would not like Texas but my brother-in-law has a nice home there with horses and invited us out... I was both delighted and amused as he is from Cape Cod with a Boston accent and he had the cowboy hat, boots and Chevy Silverado pickup truck but yet the state seems to have a lot to offer and is affordable. That being said, my youngest daughter lives in and loves Montana so that is where I will be going next....

I hear there can be some really good food!

Julie and I were in the French Quarter part of New Orleans last October and had a BLAST! but met up with her 1/2 brother while there who had just arrived from AU via Lafayete ? TX and he was raving about the BBQ there.

New Oreleans is an amazing 'adventure' that one really must take in at least once in life. While I was a lot younger the first time I visited, pre Katrina, the most amazing experiences were the foods. Blown away!
This last visit mede me realize that I am now WAY too old foor Burmon Street - BUT - I'd go back in a heartbeat.
