My wife is going to kill me but... I just bought another bass guitar. Why? Because the online music vendor, Sweetwater Sound lowered the price of a bass on my wish list by $200.00! It's a Sire Marcus Miller V-6 which is a Fender Jazz bass clone yet... this one has a mahogany body which is chambered out to make it lighter. It has an ash top which is sandblasted and has a transparent black finish. Not to mention the roasted maple neck, stainless steel frets with hemispherically rounded fret ends and the two band pre-amp onboard. It's only 7.5 lbs. I have another Sire Marcus Miller bass which is a Jazz bass clone yet it weighs 9 lbs. I had a gig playing a few hours with it and the weight began to take it's toll. Lighter guitars can be more "resonant" too which is a nice tonal hack. I can't wait. I hope she is working out in the field on Thursday when Fed-Ex stops by :O
