The ford fiesta is infamous for transmission problems. Since I don't drive it as much it took longer for it to mainifest. The transmissions dont last long :(

I did not want to pay 4500 more dollars to get the transmission fixed.

I had to replace my car last week. :(

I know the feeling. Last year one of my oldest in the fleet, the 2001 Durango engine crapped out after a lifter failure that caused a cylendar to fail and then screwed up the timing chain. Basically a dead engine that wouldn't run right at all afterwards.

It was hard to part with it but I really had no choice. I welcomed a 2022 Ram 1500 Larmie to the fleet afterwards.

That sucks. My next door neighhor had that happen to his 2021 Chevy truck. 5 years old and the piece of crap had a major tramission failure with relatively low miles. Hence why I avoid Chevys.

Anyway, he ended up buying a new Chevy truck much to my dismay.

I'm interested in hearing how things go with FireFly III. I had never heard of it until you mentioned it. I was an big Quicken user for decades until they dropped the local software for the cloud. When that happened, I moved to MoneyDance.

MoneyDance is pretty good overall and a nice replacement. The only thing I don't like is it is Java based. It gets the job done, but I'm always interested in other non-cloud ways to do finance.

What I'm looking for is something to replace my old aging DVR when the time comes that the cable companies no longer support Cable Cards. I'm using a very ancient Windows Media Center (on Windows 7!) that is expected to become a paper weight later this year.

I'm on Verizon FIOS and though they have a DVR option, I hear it isn't that great. I guess I've been spoiled with WMC since like 2012!

They have been around many years now and unfortunately no new hardware versions have come to market. Not that they really need a hardware refresh, but I always like more speed and storage. There is never enough of either.

I have had my NVidia Shields for around 8-10 years or so now ever since I stopped using PCs on the TVs with WMC and XBMC.

I can run any streaming app on the shield and also run Jellyfin, which is what I use for my own huge media center.
