I had to replace my car last week. :(

The ford fiesta is infamous for transmission problems. Since I don't drive it as much it took longer for it to mainifest. The transmissions dont last long :(

I did not want to pay 4500 more dollars to get the transmission fixed.

I know the feeling. Last year one of my oldest in the fleet, the 2001 Durango engine crapped out after a lifter failure that caused a cylendar to fail and then screwed up the timing chain. Basically a dead engine that wouldn't run right at all afterwards.

It was hard to part with it but I really had no choice. I welcomed a 2022 Ram 1500 Larmie to the fleet afterwards.

That sucks. My next door neighhor had that happen to his 2021 Chevy truck. 5 years old and the piece of crap had a major tramission failure with relatively low miles. Hence why I avoid Chevys.

Anyway, he ended up buying a new Chevy truck much to my dismay.

I had a wonderful 2018 Fiesta ST which had the manual transmission. Much better than the automatic...

Thanks for sharing. I've recently started working on trying to get FireFly III financial application installed. Importer portion isn't working yet, but general application is working well so far.

I need to try and do an annual check up like this as well! Subscriptions eat up so much money. Expecially with Amazon! So easy to start them and forget!

We have cancelled all but one subscription. It feels so liberating. This model of "pay and then pay some more" is ridiculous. We thought we needed all this stuff, turns out we don't. We would much rather spend money nowadays doing things, visiting friends, etc than giving another dime to some company that continues to make things worse and worse.

I'm interested in hearing how things go with FireFly III. I had never heard of it until you mentioned it. I was an big Quicken user for decades until they dropped the local software for the cloud. When that happened, I moved to MoneyDance.

MoneyDance is pretty good overall and a nice replacement. The only thing I don't like is it is Java based. It gets the job done, but I'm always interested in other non-cloud ways to do finance.

Other than Internet, cellular, VoIP, and power, I have no subscriptions. I pay zero for TV service just like the old days when I was a kid using the old rabbit ears to get the few grainy channels you could see.

Pluto TV and Fubo are great for streaming tons of TV shows and Movies. Outside of that you can build your own media server using something like Jellyfin and watch whatever content you add.

What I'm looking for is something to replace my old aging DVR when the time comes that the cable companies no longer support Cable Cards. I'm using a very ancient Windows Media Center (on Windows 7!) that is expected to become a paper weight later this year.

I'm on Verizon FIOS and though they have a DVR option, I hear it isn't that great. I guess I've been spoiled with WMC since like 2012!
