Supposed to get some of the coastal storm today yet it's moving out to sea a bit. We will probably get 3-5" with some significant wind. What's particularly annoying is that the electric lift gate on my Subaru Forester is frozen and it won't shut. The guys at the package goods store were laughing when I drove in and the lift gate was open. "Cold are ya?" they said. It was only 6 degrees...

    Hi, Jahmas.

    Re: stuck electric tailgate

That sounds painful... not quite the convenience they had in mind when they designed it, I'm sure!

Wifey's car has an electic tailgate but I don't think it's ever got stuck. The biggest problem we have in the cold is that I drive a coupe and the frameless windows freeze shut - even after you tease the doors open the windows are stuck all the way up so they can't do the little drop motion that they normally do and they slam really badly. I've not taken out any glass yet but you really realise why they make them auto drop when the door is open.

I found the hack on YouTube. There is the close button on the gate right under the Subie "Pleiades" symbol. Hold it more than 5 seconds and it resets. No more problem!
