windows. I remember looking out of this room at night and the snow was literally drifted up to the side of the building and all of the spruce
trees outside. Since I was at "The Overlook" It reminded me of Stanley Kubric's "The Shining" :O

lol, yes, that situation resembled that movie..

We are really overdue for a good blizzard here. I'm ready this year for it with the new addition to the fleet - 2022 Ram 1500.

It has been a while since we had a good snow here, too. I still
remember thge double blizzard year about 13 or so years ago. That was
    the best!
There seemed to be quite a bit of snow my last year in Maryland. I was working at Sheppard Pratt and had just purchased a 2009 VW Gti. I had also obtained 16" rims for taller snow tires (stock rims were 18"). I had Blizzak "run flats" for the snows. Coupled with a manual tranny, the car was invincible. There was perhaps close to 100" of snow in Maryland before Christmas. I worked on "The Overlook" at Sheppard which was a private unit for Adolescents. Because I had made it to work in a blizzard, they were short staffed and it was mandatory that I had to stay. I slept in an old conference room with a huge fireplace, Victorian era furnature and tall windows. I remember looking out of this room at night and the snow was literally drifted up to the side of the building and all of the spruce trees outside. Since I was at "The Overlook" It reminded me of Stanley Kubric's "The Shining" :O

New Oreleans is an amazing 'adventure' that one really must take in at least once in life. While I was a lot younger the first time I visited,
pre Katrina, the most amazing experiences were the foods. Blown away!
This last visit mede me realize that I am now WAY too old foor Burmon Street - BUT - I'd go back in a heartbeat.
So... what are you too old for? The food or the bourbon???

I hear you. Four years ago I started an intermittant fasting routine with a keto diet. I will eat my first meal for the day at 2pm, usually high protein meal i.e. small omlet with cheese, tuna salad etc. I eat non-GMO beef, fish, chicken and good salads. Keeping the carbs under 30 grams per day I lost like 35-40 lbs in 4 months. I walk and ride a stationary cycle, garden etc. I sleep like a baby. I'm 71 yet functioning perhaps better than I was at 18 (I smoked cigarettes as a teenager). I have a fondness for alcohol yet it highjacks your dopamine receptors. As a nurse, I saw a lot of people with "Metabolic Syndrome" (high visceral fat) which caused a lot of bad comorbidities during covid and that was a wake up call. I would like to live to see somemore grandchildren now ;)
