I had a 2018 Taurus 3.5L AWD, Tuxedo black. I murdered out any chrome and put the police interceptor grill in it like the SHO. I drove up to 150 miles per day making nursing visits from Cape Cod to Dartmouth and back. I loved that car. It was perhaps the last of the exclusively made American cars with the exception of the Jeep Wrangler. It got great gas mileage and was fun in the snow. I want a low mileage SHO if I can find one. It has the same wheelbase AWD as my wife's Volvo wagon :O

I've only had 5 Fords, unless you consider a Merc a ford.

All have has their minor annoyances, but I do have to say, they were all very good cars.

With the exception of the Merc Capri, I drove well over 100K miles on each one, with the more recent ones giving me over 200K miles with just routine maintenance - and- paying attention to known weaknesses.

My son still drives my 2000 Mustang, My Ford Escape I gave to my daughter at 215K miles, she sold it at 250K back in 2020? I saw it the other day as it passed me on the highway. Not that some components aren't expensive, but proper maintenance of ANY vehicle is going to be costly, but that's just the way it is.

My wife and I now drive Subaru's and while I only have about 100K miles on mine, it has been far more expensive in maintanance costs due to the AWD and a few suspension issues that SHOULD have been recalls.

In any case, it doesn't really matter what make car you have, they will all require potentially expensive repairs, especially if not properly operated and maintained.

My former 2011 ford fiesta was about to go on a 3rd transmission in 125k miles. :(
