Well... I sure understand what you mean. Your wish to do the right and good stuff to others is really wonderful, beautiful part of your heart...
But about God being a forced choice, maybe many of us already felt that someday, but it's an invitation to get back to him, not an ivitation to follow a list of rules (that Jesus didnt bring...). God wants relationship not a blind obedience. His orientations are not for controlling us, but guide us to a better life, also showing the best way to relate to the others.

Not that it's impossible to to be "good" without God. it's just that in christian faith, the good gets a different meaing, maybe more depth... it's you do the good with more meaning as you understand where this came from, and where it leads us to.

Being and doing good can be already a reflex of God in you, even if you didnt' notice - maybe the choice was not forced as it seemed...

I don't like doing things for a reward. I do them becaues I would like for people to do the same for me. Going to God just becaue he
promises a reward is against my personal standards. My last message
was never answered. I want this to be a choice in good conscience,
not something that I'm doing because there's something in it for me,
or against me if I don't make this choice.

Does anyone have anything to say for this that would get me to go to church
or be more religious? My Mom's church believes that "All" means "All", but a lot of churches don't... It's discouraging.
