weight-load testing of the new trains, with 400km covered using a test
train in its fully loaded state of 68 tonnes, and work at 119 Piccadilly
However, there will also be some mid-week closures, and TfL said that where >possible, the weekday closures have been scheduled for school holidays,
when demand on the network is significantly reduced.

68 tons? that can't be right.
I know they're lighter than the 73 stock
but less than 50% of the weight is implausible. 73 is 140 tons IIRC.

TheyrCOre about the same empty weight (73 158t, 24 157t), despite the extra >length of the 24TS and the aircon.

I was expecting a bit more weight saving than that. Yes its a bit longer
but its also saving on a few bogies too and they're not light.

I think 68 tonnes is just the simulated load, not the crush loaded train weight (244t).
Correct. Just over 1,000 passengers. 68 tonnes divided by 1000 -> 68Kg.

From Heathrow, with possible use of other rail
lines, not that many from Cockfosters or Uxbridge.
