Does anyone know why ukfree.tv is apparently not available.

Same for streetmap.co.uk although I hear a whisper that it has been off
since early this month - may be something to do with licencing charges
    for use of OS Maps.

Perhaps they've thrown the towel in? Woefully out of date, and
    inaccurate information on there

Streetmap has been offline (presumed "pushing up daisies") for a couple
    of weeks.

If anyone wants OS map substitute sites, these seem good:

    https://www.sysmaps.co.uk/sysmaps_os.html
    https://maps.the-hug.net/
    https://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm

The last one has side by side OS map and aerial photo.

What is the advantage over OS maps?

    They do everything I need.

You sound like the bloke from IBM, who said in the 1960s, 'why would the
world require more than 6 or 7 computers in total'?

Or some bloke called Gates said in 1981 of memory that "640K should be
    enough for anyone."

Allegedly he has since denied ever saying it but......

My requirements for a (UK) mapping site is the ability to go a NGR
location and also to read off the NGR of a location.

I get annoyed on some sites when people go to great lengths to say where somewhere is located but never give the NGR.

I find UK Grid Reference Finder does most things I want including
covering Ireland though I was struggling at the weekend define grid
references in Channel Island, usually I can convert National Grid to
Channel Island but it no longer gives a grid reference to convert but
not found any decent maps of the Channel Islands.
