• Strange OVO website behaviour

    I recently wanted to catch up with my year's electrical
    consumption spreadsheet, so I went on to OVO's website and logged in to
    my account. I could see the links for each of the year's monthly
    reports, and I could open the ones that I wanted to download, but every download attempt resulted in a failure, with a message saying
    something about Auth02 not being updated.
    I tried Chat, with the usual result of the 'bot not understanding my
    question, but it did connect me with a human, who understood with ease.
    The condensed version of the ensuing conversation was that the website
    was being serviced, but he could provide me with the data I wanted in an
    e-mail message, which he did. That was fine.
    A couple of days later, I tried again for a few more reports, and the
    same thing happened. But I was able to open up each report directly,
    shrink it to a sensible size, and Screen print it. In fact, the data
    was now on one sheet of paper, as opposed to the two that the
    downloaded version always gave me. So I could still not download the
    data, but I could view it and copy it, and it was presented better.
    After all, a win!

    clean all cookies/site date/history for all ovo domains, restart
    browser, if it still fails try incognito mode, if that works there's
    something else you need to delete ... maybe try a different browser?

    Well, I'll try that, but the human at OVO offered unprompted that it was
    due to the site maintenance taking place at the time.

    I did Clean Recent History, but it did not change anything.

    For me personally, the resulting 'download' that I did get was more use
    than the unavailable one, so I won't spend much time on it.
