IrCOm relieved that IrCOm no longer a VMO2 customer.

    From the FT:

Virgin Media O2rCOs shareholders are targeting around -u600mn in cost cuts at the heavily indebted telecoms group in a bid to calm investor concerns
about the sustainability of the companyrCOs debt pile.

Liberty Global and Telef||nica are proposing asking the UK telecoms group to find the reductions through a mixture of job cuts and reductions in
operating and capital expenditure, according to two people familiar with
    the matter.

The move comes after the company was rocked by a sell-off in its bonds over
the summer, with investors worried about its ability to service a -u22bn
debt pile amid an influx of competition from dozens of small fibre network operators, known as rCLaltnetsrCY.

Their pricing is a bit mad. I used to be a Virgin Mobile customer, I
got moved to Oree and given a monthly discount as a result. I've had
three price rises since the move, but they're still paying more of my
bill in discounts than I am, and I expect that'll still be true after
next April ... I think I could save a couple of quid by moving.

Sadly it will also be the customerrCOs problem. A cutback in capital
investment will show. Overloaded cell sites, broadband with insufficient capacity etc. They will likely also slow down their conversion of their
coax network to full fibre. You only have to look at the supermarkets that
are heavily in debt, Asda, Morrisons, to see how they crumble. The good
news is that OpenReach now seem intent on building fibre out to areas that hitherto they had abandoned to VM.

They were once a monopoly provider, in that if you wanted cable TV they were the only show in town, and likewise if you wanted more than ADSL and later
VDSL in many places. Their pricing and sales/retentions tactics reflected that. But now there is decent competition in a lot of areas, they have
failed to notice that a lot of people *hate* them and are very happy to jump ship at the first opportunity. Leaving them with an increasingly small rump
    of legacy customers.

Yep. They held me to ransom for years as BT only wanted to provide a weak
VDSL service. A couple of years ago CityFibre turned up and my speed has doubled (upload increased 10 times) and my bill halved. Two other people I
know in similar circumstances are promised OpenReach fibre in a year or so. TheyrCOll be dumping VM at that point.
