I have noticed several times over the past few days if I 'tune' into
Sky TV online using my Amazon Firestick the programme is delayed by
about 30 minutes and requires fast-forwarding to real time. Any ideas
about this curious phenomenon?

I just started watching sky news via the video player embedded in their >website, compared to the broadcast version from my PC tuner, it was
delayed 10 minutes, but as you say could be fast-forwarded to near realtime.
Maybe 1 minute could be explained away by encoding/buffering/uploading?
The live version on youtube is about 15 seconds ahead of the version on >their website(but has no clock in the ticker-bar)
what app or service is the firestick using?
