Donald Trump's intervention to get a red card on a US footballer
overturned seemed as if it could have come straight from the satirical
fake documentary series Twenty Twenty-Six that was recently shown on the
    BBC.

Some of the memes on Facebook are quite good. He is apparently amassing
troops on Belgium's border with the US and will invade if necessary to
    recover the World Cup.

Trump wants to get rid of the right to be an American citizen solely on
just being born in the US of A

Folarin Balogun the player in question is only a USA citizen because his
parents were holidaying in the USA and airlines refused to let his
mother fly back to the UK because of her advanced pregnancy, hence he
was born in the USA. He is also black so it's a miracle that ICE
allowed him in the stadium to play in the match which resulted in his
    ban :) :)

It's not only a right (which implies that it is optional) but also
    mandatory.

When the FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) rules were
introduced by the USA, my two nephews (who were born in the USA because
my sister and her family were living there at the time) decided to
renounce their US citizenship which was forced on the by being born
there, so they would not be taxed twice, once by our Inland Revenue and
again by the US IRS for any earnings/inheritance in the UK. It cost them several grand each to do it.

I think the US is one of the few countries which double-taxes some
earnings earned outside the US: ie tax goes to the US and also to the earning-country's taxation system.
