On a recent visit to Denmark, out of curiosity I tested Global Player
and I was able to listen to Gold and Classic FM. Does mean Global
Radio has to pay for rights in each country where Global Player can be received? Are the rights fairly cheap, based on the number of
listeners in that country? Where is the attraction to advertisers?

Vodafone, and probably others, now appear to connect you via a VPN tunnel >when roaming. So, for example, iPlayer still thinks you are in the UK.

A quick search shows that GP plays pretty well all over the world except
in places like Iran, Afghanistan, North Korea etc
