I came across a reference recently to WASHTUB in WWII and was looking
into this in Pawley and came across mention of a BBC project giving
advice on the provision of mobile long-wave transmitters for use by
Regional Commissioners if their area became cut off from central
government in the event of invasion.
Many aspects of Cold War planning evolved from WWII but I had never come across any mention before of "mobile long-wave transmitters".
