...just before the 8am pips today.

The message goes on to say that the service is terminating on 27th June,
and give information on all the other ways we can receive the station.

Probably largest listening figures that Radio 4 Long Wave has had for
years as people try to remember how to hear it, so they can hear the
    message about it closing! :-)

That's why I dusted off my LW radio. It sounds like the programmes will continue until the 27th (early morning), rather than have a dead carrier (which might continue after the 27th, though I don't know why).

And of course, there's "Song of Reproduction" from about 1957: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL5SzTSMxLU (really just the first about
2-+ minutes, but they're such an amiable pair rCa)

Odd how some of the things thought desirable/hifi later weren't, like autochange - I guess it's like how such things always come around, in
the way in Woody Allen's film "Sleeper", in the far future hot fudge
sauce is considered to have medicinal benefits. But do listen to the
    above F&S - it's a nice other world.

But this can only happen if we replace the urge to blame with the urge
to learn so that it is safe for staff to admit errors and raise
concerns without the fear of being punished.
