Given that fine weather is forecast for tomorrow, the only question is
can England manage to prolong their innings until after lunch, as defeat
now seems inevitable. Hopefully Root can reach his century before that happens.

From the outbursts of loud cheering unrelated to what was actually
happening on the pitch, it looks like the moronic Mexican wave is back.
I'd hoped we'd seen the last of that. I imagine people have been
watching the football World Cup and have picked it up from there.

set a World Record for participation in a Mexican Wave by getting the
crowd at one of the Mexican grounds to do a Wave??

I don't object to that, as I shan't have to listen to it. And I don't
think it would be nearly so intrusive at a football match as it tends to
be at cricket, where it often interrupts a "breathless hush". Yesterday
there was some tense cricket going on, which the wavers seemed to be >uninterested in. I wonder how many of them were mostly there to sit in
the sun with their mates and drink beer? Though it seems a very
expensive way of doing it.

I think you could recycle that line for today, although they have a bit
more batting resource left than last time.
Hopefully Root can reach his century before that
happens.
That's much less likely than it was at The Oval, but would be much more >useful.
