T20 franchise cricket will be GREAT for players since more of them can
make millions of dollars and get rich quickly.

Cricket Australia considering holding Big Bash League opener in India,
    report says

While BBL clubs have not been officially briefed by Cricket Australia
about the idea to host a game in India, clubs are "aware" of CArCOs desire.

The Australian cricket team might be booking their flights back home
today from the T20 World Cup, but the countryrCOs showpiece cricket
league, the Big Bash League, might be headed to India. Cricket Australia
is reportedly considering staging next seasonrCOs Big Bash League (BBL)
opener in India, according to a report in SEN Cricket.

The report said that two senior Cricket Australia staff members rCo head
of business operations Phil Rigby and head of competition development
and strategy Margot Harley rCo were in India to explore the possibility of
a city like Chennai hosting a BBL game. This push to hold a BBL game on
Indian shores comes amid conversations surrounding the sale of at least
two of their eight Big Bash franchises.

I wonder if there would be enough interest from Indian spectators and
media for this to make financial sense. Does the Indian board currently
allow Indian players to play in the BBL? If the idea is to have any
chance of succeeding, I imagine it would be necessary for them to give permission for the top Indian players to appear.

Australian board thinks there will be sufficient interest from Indian
fans to watch BBL opener, otherwise they wouldn't even consider playing
    in India.

    Does the Indian board currently

    Currently NO.

Probably in the future IF and WHEN IPL owners buy BBL teams.

BBL cricket in India will be different I'm sure. The American NFL
games that were played in UK and Ireland are being discontinued.
Outside of their natural habitat these bright ideas can turn from a
profitable novelty to bottomless money pit pretty quickly.

American football is NOT popular in Europe but cricket is extremely
popular in India almost to the point of being a religion.

Since Ozzie and other international players are house hold names in
India, I am sure the stadium will be at least half full for BBL opener.

Nothing wrong in CA trying and seeing what happens anyway.

I suspect CA wanting to play BBL opener in India is to slowly ENTICE
BCCI to allow IPL team owners to buy BBL teams and let Indian players
    play in BBL.

If they play it in the evening in India, it'll be the middle of the
night in eastern Australia, so it won't be great for TV viewers there.

Most likely they will start the BBL opener in the afternoon around 3 PM
on a Sunday in India which will be around 7:30 PM in Sydney Australia.
