After Ervine again decide to field first, RSA made 628-5 mainly due to
new cap Mulder score of 367 but he wasnt tempted to try and overhaul
Lara's 30 yrold record 400. He then took 2 wkts as the zimbys were shot
    out for 170.

New? This is his 21st Test. He made his debut in 2019.

score of 367 but he wasnt tempted to try and overhaul
    Lara's 30 yrold record 400.

It is a SA record, beating Hashim Amla's 311* at The Oval in 2012, and
the highest score by any player in an away Test, beating Hanif
    Mohammad's 337 at Bridgetown in 1957/58.

Ah, I see now - when you said "cap", you meant captain!

He's only standing in for Maharaj, who was standing in for Bavuma.

Ervine's decision to field might have been even worse than Stokes' The scorecard also makes it look as though England may have underperformed
against Zim a month or so ago!

    Anyway well played Mulder.

Well they did take a couple of early wickets. I suspect that they would
    have been thrashed either way.

Yes, considering that England were playing at home, and were much nearer
a full-strength team than SA are.

Yes it is basically an RSA 2nd XI.
