ECB has launched an investigation into English players beer-drinking
for 6 days out of 9 during trip to Noosa just before 3rd test.

    - This video is of Ben Duckett, he was found by Australians on streets
of Noosa under huge infleunce of alcohol.

    - After losing the 2nd test, English players instead of going to
practice & play extra warm uo games. Coach Brendon McCullum decided to
take them for the 9 days trip to Noosa. Where most of them drunk a lot
    of beer.

England's director Rob Key's full statement below:

"Drinking excessice amount of alcohol for an international cricketer is
not something, I'd expect to see at any stage, I am not a drinker & I
think a drinking culture doesn't help anyone in any stretch whatsoever.

I have no issue with the Noosa trip if it was to get away & throw your
phone away, down tools, go on the beach.

We've launched an investigation & we have got enough ways of finding out exactly what happened".

    - I am watching cricket since 2007 & I have never seen english
cricketers under this much scrutiny by media & boards. They got to win
next 2 games if they want to bring temperatures a bit down!

It all depends how much they drank on those days. If it was only a pint
or two on each day, there shouldn't be a problem, but if some of them
were getting smashed then that's not good.

Not good at all. His place in the side for thenext Test may have already
been in jeopardy because of his poor form, and this could have cost him
his place (though the squad offly doesn't really have a reserve opener).

To be fair, this would have been arranged well in advance, when it was reasonable to assume that the England players would be in need of some
R&R after perhaps 8-10 hard days of cricket. In the event in turned out
to be after only 5 days of cricket, of course. Given that their
performance in the third Test, while not great, was at least better than
in the first two matches, the break might actually have done them some good.

I think it's not that different from the scrutiny they've been under on
the last couple of tours - though on the last tour, because of Covid,
the opportunities to put them under the microscope would have been reduced.

I see that Darren Lehmann has spoken up in their defence. When
interviewed on the Australian radio station ABC, he said he spent time
with some England players in Noosa:

"They were actually really well behaved. They mixed with the locals and
had a good time," he said. "The reports of them on a stag do are just
wrong. I will defend them there. They played golf, swam on the beach and played soccer with the locals - they were liked by the locals. I will
defend them a little bit because it is a little bit out of order. I
didn't see a stag do. I saw people just relaxing and enjoying Noosa for
    what it is."

I actually don't care if England players drank excessively to FORGET the humiliation of 0-3 Ashes since there is plenty of time to get over the hangover before the 4th test but Duckett shouldn't have gotten caught intoxicated in public.
