It makes a change for an Australian to say that it's gone quiet in here
when it actually (or metaphorically, to be strict) has, rather than just
when Australia beat England. I'm not suggesting that Alvey has done the latter, btw.

It's all been because John's on holiday. He should be back
around now, whereupon normal service will be resumed.

It may be partly due to my having been away on holiay. Mike eith a small
"m" doesn't seem to have been around for the last few days either.

I am indeed back. Though there's a lull of England's men's cricket to
write about ATM, England's women's team has just put in a highly
encoraging performance against SA in the 50-over World Cup.

And bad news for Pomgolia re the Arses... Konstas has had a horrible
start to the Shield season, scoring FA and looking terrible doing it.
Plus most of his rivals did well to boot (Marnus 160). Consequently, his
grip on an Arses opening spot has significantly loosened, so you may
have to work for an early wicket...

He missed one Test of the previous Ashes series in Australia through
Covid, but it didn't seem to help England much.
