It was pretty disastrous. One felt very sorry for poor Sonny Baker. The first eight or so overs of the South African innings were rather
bizarre, with him going for about 14 an over at that stage at one end
and Archer going for two an over at the other.

after being mauled for 14 and 20 in the first two overs CHASING
England's SMALL target of 131?

I suppose he wanted to encourage Baker by showing he still had faith in
him, but to me keeping him on it seemed like a big mistake that was more likely just to further damage his confidence, not to mention that any
chance England might have had of winning was rapidly slipping away..
