  • Runs for a captain in a Test series

    From David North@nospam@lane-farm.fsnet.co.uk to uk.sport.cricket on Sat Aug 2 13:57:31 2025

Shubman Gill finishes the series with 754 runs, the second most for a
captain in any Test series, two more than Graham Gooch in the 3-Test
series v India in 1990, and 56 short on Don Bradman's record of 810 in
    the 1936/37 Ashes.

It's also the second most for an Indian batsman after Sunil Gavaskar's
774 in 4 Tests of his debut series in West Indies in 1970/71 (he missed
the 1st Test due to injury).

Phenomenal batting but he NEEDS to IMPROVE his captaincy tactics and
improvise based on the game situation instead of blindly following
pre-planned stuff before the game started.
