August 15 is Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This is significant to me since I went to Assumption Elementary
school in Avondale, Conception Bay Central, Newfoundland
(before going to Roncalli Central High).
Note that it is called Assumption for Mary and Ascension
for Jesus since Jesus is said to have ascended to
Heaven under his own power whereas Mary was
uplifted by God's power.
By the way, there is also an Ascension Collegiate
high school in Bay Roberts, Conception Bay North,
Newfoundland, where I once won the conciliation
round of a provincial junior badminton tournament.
Personally I remain open-minded about it, but I am wary of the risk of moving beyond reverence to Mary into the realms of worshipping her. Reverence is OK worship is not.

Oops, that should read rCLconsolation roundrCY.
And from https://www.holidays-and-observances.com/august-16.html
this year August 16 is God's Preeminence Day
(third Sunday in August each year).
If this is true then Mary joins the select group of people who never
died, or whose death is not recorded. viz. Enoch, Elijah and
(incorrectly according to Ken, Moses who is recorded to have actually
died), and this would indeed make Mary eligible for veneration accorded
to Enoch and Elijah, above those of the soulsleeping saints.
According to them, Mary did indeed die - in fact, some versions claim
that Jesus had to leave the room so that Death could enter and take her. Jesus then put her soul into a chariot and departed for heaven. The disciples were to keep vigil over her body for three and a half days (or
201 days in other versions) at the end of which time Jesus came down
again and stuffed Mary back into her body and took both to heaven.
