    https://www.dailymail.com/health/article-16047125/vegan-diet-slows-aging-one-month-dna-study.html

The article reports on a study recently published in a journal called "MedComm" in which 48 adults were randomly assigned to either a vegan
diet or a meat-rich one. After one month blood samples were taken and
the vegans had biological markers linked to less inflammation in the
    immune system.

Other studies have shown that vegans are less likely to suffer from
heart disease, diabetes and cancer than those who eat meat.

However the vegan diet lacks vitamin B12, which is why I am a
vegetarian, not a vegan, as dairy products supply that vitamin.

Having said that, I have vegan friends who no longer take B12
supplements and are apparently healthy. They tell me - and I am inclined
to believe them - that gut bacteria can churn out B12, but in humans
those bacteria are too far down the gut for the vitamin to be absorbed
and used. Their theory is that those who continue on a vegan diet enable
those bacteria to migrate higher in the gut to the point where the B12
    can be absorbed.

If so - and I would love to see proper scientific studies to confirm
their theory - the evidence seems clear that the diet God prescribed in
Eden is, indeed, the ideal diet. Meat-eating, allowed after the Flood,
was a less-than ideal provision for the changed post-Diluvian world.

I think it was because of the finding that a vegan diet could change the
DNA (or the way the DNA was expressed). As you say, the health effects
of a non-meat diet are well-known by now.

    I'm a pescatorian, but I take a B12 supplement.

IT ISN'T WRONG FOR CHRISTIANS TO EAT MEAT. If you choose to be
vegetarian that's fine, it's your personal choice. I take yours and GB's
point that it is probably more healthy, but people still live to a ripe

Out of curiosity, if I suddenly decided that I wanted to be an

In which case all the best to you. Provided one eats a healthy and

I know a lady whose breakfast table has more tablets than muesli - she

Out of curiosity, if I suddenly decided that I wanted to be an
adventist, but still chose to eat meat, would I be condemned for doing so?

No, many Adventists eat meat, especially those in Third World countries
where an adequate vegetarian diet is difficult to achieve.

65 years old and drinking hasn't caused me any harm (hic) Paul didn't condemn the Corinthians for being drunk, he just said do it at home, not
    at a love feast.
You are deluded if you claim that drinking hasn't caused you any harm.
There is no safe level of alcohol consumption. It would be more correct
to say that you have not yet felt any great harm.

For example, alcohol "thickens" the blood, leading to congestion or even blockage of capillaries and when that happens in the brain, some of your
brain cells die. Fortunately we all have a "cognative reserve", but it
is still a fact that you have fewer brain cells than you would have had
if you had been teetotal. Big deal, you may think, but if you should be
so unfortunate as to develop Alzheimers, the symptoms will hit sooner
than if you had preserved your brain.

It depends. For example, I have heard speculation that the Flood caused
the tilt in Earth's axis, resulting in greater seasonality in the
climate. If the pre-Flood earth had a more even climate all over the
globe, then all plants could have grown anywhere instead of being
restricted by tropical, equatorial, temperate bands.

Not at all, the point I was making that it doesn't matter what food you

It doesn't defile you spiritually[1] but it will damage your physical
health. Of course, if you live in a Third World country, not eating meat
would be even more damaging to your health, but the most healthy diet is
    a vegetarian one.

Note 1: Having seen animals killed for food in India and the Middle
East, I think that non-vegetarians are more callous towards animal
suffering than vegetarians and that, of course, has a spiritual
significance. It is true that in the West we are one step removed from
the slaughter of animals, but even so I think there is a difference
between someone who can look at a lamb and think "Cute" and another
person who looks at the same lamb and thinks "Mint sauce".

Individual cases are no guide to scientific fact. It is the broad
