The Rev Dr Bernard Randall had the temerity to stand up in a CofE
school, in the chapel of the school, and tell students that Christian marriage was between a biological man and woman. For this awful heresy
he was reported to Prevent by the school authorities (you can see the
clear link to terrorism, I'm sure) and suspended from all clerical
functions by the Diocese of Derby. His attempts to appeal against this
were frustrated by Justin Welby, the woke archbishop of Canterbury.
Bernard didn't quite say that, he said "it is perfectly legitimate to
think that marriage should only properly be understood as being a
lifelong exclusive union of a man and a woman..." Absolutely nothing
wrong in that comment, nor was he referred to Prevent for that comment.
Understandably, he got a bit uppity with them, they got a bit uppity
with him, and he was referred to Prevent, wrongly. Prevent ruled there
was no case to answer.
Various employment tribunals ruled in his favour, but senior clergy
would not budge from their determination to punish anyone daring to
preach Christian doctrine.
Why do you tell lies Ken? He appealed to a tribunal and lost. He
appealed again in 2025 and Trent College was ordered to pay -u20,000 and re-examine the dismissal. Subsequently there has been a legal settlement between the two parties. It was never decided by the second tribunal.
As for preaching Christian doctrine, as much as I don't have an issue
with his sermon, (see below) isn't there something in that doctrine
which forbids taking your fellow Christians to court?
Now, however, with the backing of the Christian Legal Centre, he has won reinstatement. I don't have any details of what that term means, but
I'll bet the woke non-Christians will do their damndest to frustrate any attempt to see him in active ministry again.
Re-instatement means getting his job back, which isn't quite the case.
"According to the Christian Legal Centre, Randall has completed the
Church of England's mandatory safeguarding training. He is now eligible
to apply for Permission to Officiate, although any decision on granting
a licence rests with the Diocese of Derby."

Hopefully he will get a licence to officiate again, and the sorry saga
can be put to bed.
Interesting sermon by the way, it may well do you good to take heed:
"So, all in all, if you are at ease with rCLall this LGBT stuff,rCY yourCOre entitled to keep to those ideas; if you are not comfortable with it, for
the various especially religious reasons, you should not feel required
to change. Whichever side of this conflict of ideas you come down on, or
even if you are unsure of some of it, the most important thing is to
remember that loving your neighbour as yourself does not mean agreeing
with everything he or she says; *it means that when we have these
discussions there is no excuse for personal attacks or abusive language.
We should all respect that people on each side of the debate have deep
and strongly held convictions.* And because, unlike Brexit, this is not
a debate which is subject to a vote, it is an ongoing process, so there
should be a shared effort to find out what real truth looks like, and to respect that that effort is made honestly and sincerely by all people,
even if not everybody comes up with the same answers for now.
