We are in the process of updating the 'enable Flash Player in Chrome' tech note to reflect these changes.</div><div></div><div></div><div>the same problem for me intermittently for the last couple of months. It also messes with firefox and edge flashplayer. sometimes the whole page freezes when i try to play clips. sometimes only sound plays and clip pic freezes. sometimes clip plays with no sound and / or prompts to install flashplayer etc...</div><div></div><div></div><div>i'm using creators edition windows. drivers are as up to date as poss. using logitech g930 headset g700s mouse and logitech gaming software 8.92 when it works (though it screws up when flash screws up generally whether the sotware has been launched prior to flash failure or not...)</div><div></div><div></div><div>Google removed the chrome://flags/#prefer-html-over-flash setting in the latest version. The work-arounds available are no longer available. The only information we have now, from Google is their support document Use or fix Flash audio & video - Computer - Google Chrome Help .</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>I do not see 'prefer html over flash' in the chrome://plugins/flags menu listings.... please advise. I also have the same problem.... can't get adobe flash player to run in google chrome in facebook. I have a macbook pro and am running the latest versions of flash player and google chrome.... have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling chrome. Still getting 'plug-in blocked' . please advise.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Hello, I recently uninstalled the Adobe flash player because it was end of life after Dec 2020. Now my question is that do I need to replace it with some other flash players or it does not matter that much?</div><div></div><div></div><div>I'm so glad the "correct" answer provided by the "experts didn't manage to address the issue at all for you.(Me either BTW.) I figured out on mine that even though chrome wasn't running in the task manager, that it was down in the "hidden icons"</div><div></div><div></div><div>As of a couple weeks ago, I can still use Chrome to access all flash content without any problem. However, it suddenly stops working, and I cannot pinpoint any particular problem that caused this. Other browser that currently still support flash, such as Microsoft Edge, can still access flash content without problem. I have exhausted all available options as shown on the Chrome help page, Use or fix Flash audio & video - Computer - Google Chrome Help , with no progress in fixing the issue. Moreover, chrome://plugins used to be accessible shortly after finding out I cannot access flash content, but now it's an inaccessible site.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I did a clean re-installation of Chrome as well as Adobe Flash, but the problem remain: All websites that contains flash content simply tells me "Right-click to run Adobe Flash Player", but there are no response even after I tell the website to run Adobe Flash Player. Looking for more insight into this problem. Thanks!</div><div></div><div></div><div>Direct link: While unfortunately I cannot link you directly to the website that I use flash the most frequently (Macmillan Learning , requires login and resource purchase), here is an alternative website that I access on a semi frequent basis: (N v2.0 Full Online Version)</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Go to chrome://site-engagement/ and look for in the 'origin' column. What is the associated value in the 'base' column? If it's less than 100, change it to 100 and restart the browser. Does it work now?</div><div></div><div></div><div>Flash is broken and has been for a few weeks in Linux. I've given up trying to get any reply from adobe. The only work aorund I have found is find the location of the .so (plugin file) and replace it with a previous version extracted from the download.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If I click run this time it allows me to run any flash content on current page but same notification on new page. If however, I click update plugin it takes me to this Chrome support page. I follow instructions and go to chrome://plugins which give me a url under Adobe Flash Player which is following Download Critical Security Update and as you see this again links me to the Google support page with instructions on how to update and that I've already been on.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I assume you have solved your issue by now, but for the benefit of others: Flash is now provided as a so-called component and updated separately from the main Chrome application. I would therefore suggest first checking chrome://components and manually check for an update there.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I have ubuntu 12.04 64bit using Google Chrome. I had chromium from the app center then today amazon prime video stopped working. It told me to update Flash. So I uninstalled chromium and installed Google Chrome. Didn't work. Then I downloaded flash for ubuntu via apt. That one gave me a "flash version isn't supported" message. The flash version was 11.</div><div></div><div></div><div>On my 10.04 system, I ran Synaptic Package Manager, searched for flash and found a package called flashplugin-installer version 11.2.202.238ubuntu0.10.04.1. Picking it for installation caused it to remove the earlier version of flash plugin that was for 64bit. However, this solved the issue for me. I can now play prime instant videos.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Sometimes when flash gets automatically updated, the newer version doesn't work for me like my previous one had. I couldn't find an easy way to downgrade, but here is one way that works for me when I use firefox:</div><div></div><div></div><div>Another common problem with Flash, especially in 12.04, is "Gnash" that little bugger caused me numerous problems with flash. Just completely remove Gnash, and then download the flash plug-in from Adobe or the "Software centre".</div><div></div><div></div><div>For those whom don't know, removes Gnash and the configurations (with purge) then installs the latest version of flash. You may need to reboot afterwards (something I don't do very often if i'm honest).</div><div></div><div></div><div>Chrome has Flash support built into the browser. This is not like how Firefox uses flashplugin-installer/flashplugin-nonfree or adobe-flashplugin (which are separate from the browser, but utilized by the browser). The Ubunbu packaged plugin can use the HAL, whereas the built in plugin to chrome cannot.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I am an Ubuntu newbie and tried various work arounds to do with flash not being installed, or not having an up to date version of chrome or chromium etc to get amazon music to work in Chrome and Chromium. In the end went to firefox and went to add ons> plug ins> ... set shockwave flash to always activate and now its running fine.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Go to your Google chrome Add-on and search for adobe flash for Google chrome and install the right one for your browser. I think it has something to do with your browser. Have you tried it in other browser like Firefox?</div><div></div><div></div><div>You may also play Flash content on a page-to-page basis. Google Chrome will ask you to enable or block the Adobe flash player whenever you open a page with Flash content. Just click the puzzle icon to the right of the address bar and click Allow to enable it.</div><div></div><div></div><div>FWIW, The "update flash" messages are often misleading, as you will get them when flash is blocked by the browser. Also Chrome and Edge use internal flash players, they don't use the adobe plug-in at all. From your post, it sounds like you do know how to unblock flash for the browsers you use. But if that's not the case, post back with the specific browser.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Designed to be easy to use and install, users or website owners may install the web versionof Ruffle and existing flash content will "just work", with no extra configuration required.Ruffle will detect all existing Flash content on a website and automatically "polyfill"it into a Ruffle player, allowing seamless and transparent upgrading of websites that stillrely on Flash content.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I love firefox esp videos. Much better than internet explorer and chrome. Very stable, smooth. Was playing fine then crashed. I thought it could be a few programs i uninstalled like shockwave which was playing hell with my computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled mozilla firefox and adobe flash player but still couldn't play videos in you tube, or revolution golf, etc. I took a screenshot but i don't see an attachment here to send it you. It says i need to update adobe flash player, or the adobe flash player is required for video playbacks, which i already did several times but it still doesn't show up in my firefox plugins. Please advise.</div><div></div><div> dd2b598166</div>
