<div>The CLI tool for is a super valuable skillset to have. With that said, the desktop GUI is there for a reason. If you need/want the GUI to get into the git workflow, great! Actually, that's what I did. I started with the GUI desktop app when I first started using git. I've since switched over to just using the CLI for it, out of pure lazyness really. It is just "faster" to use, so that's what I do.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>download github desktop</div><div></div><div>Download: https://t.co/HEhDMEUFrI </div><div></div><div></div><div>I found your response helpful, so thank you. Come to think of it, I would reckon the devs will touch on that subject in later courses. I believe the reason one non-Treehouse dev I spoke with told me that CLI is so great for Github is that is simply expedites the process of updating code, especially on large projects and those involving numerous people. And possibly that there are (maybe?) things you can do with the CLI for Github that you can't do with the desktop software. I can't recall.</div><div></div><div></div><div>This is the step where we actually upload it to Github. GithubDesktop lets us create a new repository on github.com without usingthe web browser. In this step, we also push the changes to theremote repository, though it happens without us seeing all themiddle steps.</div><div></div><div></div><div>GitHub Desktop offers an easy way of getting started with GitHub and version control. Depending on your use case GitHub desktop may be sufficient for your needs. If you are already familiar with using the Command Line then using Git on the Command Line may offer some advantages. Version control systems like Git have a lot of features available to use. Some of these will only be applicable in very specific contexts, others will be more commonly useful. Alongside the lesson suggested above the resources below will allow you to gain a deeper understanding of version control.</div><div></div><div></div><div>GitHub Desktop provides a desktop user interface that runs on a developer's local computer, with a visual interface to the GitHub code version control platform. While using GitHub online via a web browser is common, for many the convenience and control of running on a desktop is hard to pass up.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div> df19127ead</div>
