I cannot stay quiet any longer!
I sincerely hope that none of the many journalists who reported on that
recent aircraft incident were in one of my physics lessons!

Supposedly the difference between cabin pressure and outside pressure at 16,000 feet was 4 psi, multiply that by a window area of 100 sq inches,
you've got a 400 lb force ... I would have other things on my mind
rather than wondering if I'm being blown out of the aircraft, or sucked
    into they sky ...

Well yes, but we all understand whatrCOs being said. You wouldnrCOt describe drinking through a straw as creating conditions where atmospheric pressure
was blowing your drink up the straw. ThatrCOs whatrCOs happening but nobody would describe the action as anything other than rCLsuckingrCY.
