They don't make nostalgia like they used to...

While furtling through the nether regions of an old disk,
I found this, the URL to Humbug's Caff site:-

    <https://cheerslove.org/menu.htm/>

    - and 28 years later, it's still up. Good old Humbug,
I miss him, and all the other brekkie peeps too.

Does anybody fancy a bacon roll and a cuppa?

There are many reasons I gave up driving, my crappy
eyesight is one. There is also slow reaction time, less strength,

I know that the roads are filled with people like me who

Often when I visit places and am asked if I parked and

Scintillating scotoma is not an eye problem, it is a brain problem,
related to and often a warming of an approaching migraine.

Where does the optic nerve end and the brain begin?

The optic nerves are the bundles which connect the light sensors and the processors. Some of the processing happens in the retina, some more
happens in the bundle but most happens in various bits of the brain. To
draw a computer analogy the "optic nerves" have smart routers at each
end, and a combiner in the middle.

The bit of your brain that tells you that it is a ball which may be
heading your way is nowhere near the bit that tells you where you need
to put your hand to catch it or whether you need to dodge.

If you think our system is complex, the octopus has one which makes ours
    look positively rudimentary.

Erdinger's OK. I drink the cheap most popular German bottled lager as it's cheap (partly because the advertising budget is re40) - Oettinger. My

    Eh? Most popular? Naaah...

Oettinger is known for one thing: being a cheap lager, thin on taste, and sold immediately after brewing and bottling. I Have Been Told that storing beer for some weeks makes it better -- but it costs more. So by the time you get it, it would be better than in Germany.

Indeed. When it was actual law, though, I heard of a tanker-load of

    other hand, was allowed.

I assume that was a customs officer being bloody minded.

Once (Before EU) while I was lolling about in customs at
Felixstowe, a tanker of Carlsberg from Denmark was coming
through, they sampled about five gallons of lager to make sure
itreally was beer and offered me a glass. I declined it was a bit
early in the day for me.

Possibly, Guinness does, though, comply with the Rheinheitsgebot

tax? on beech chippings? doubt it; just on the alcohol, I'd imagine.
Yes, German beer tax less than Austrian, but both are well
