Today I have become an octagenarian. I realise I am just a lad compared to somesheddies, but I'm quite pleased about reaching 80. As a youngster I had
to handle all sorts of toxic chemicules and hazardous wastes in the days before the Elf and Safety at Work act extended to chemical exposure, so no hazamat gear. So I reckon I'm quite lucky to have made it this far.

Fambly converging from all directions (Sheffield, Coventry and Hayfield so far) to help me celebrate.

Sort of. Just had a nice pub meal with SWMBO, our two kids, and Blister and her hubby. Balloons were virtual and we were too full for jelly and so on.

How about a proper trifle with hundreds & thousands on top?

I'm 4 years behind, so it's probably time for some advanced planning.

Well Happy BurpDay ! And many harpy returns !
My news just brought me the Judy Collins tour info -
    - a wee bit too late to buy tickets -
    - Judy Blue Eyes is still touring at 87 ..
I'm not sure exactly what that says .. but ..
    .. power on ..

One trusted source says her London Ontario concert
    was terrific.

    John T. looking forward < but not > to sixty-ten ..

Likewise, I have a little over three years to go. If I ever reach that
age I shall demand a /sherry/ trifle (preferably a double), TYVM.

Puffing candles out is too much even at my tender age; we've adopted
binary, so when I hit 64 it was less stressful than any year since the
big three two. But I noticed the Mrs only puts 7 candles holders on the
    cake.

    Later -
I sneaked a look in the tin; I'm OK 'til 1023, phew.
