I must confess I've been remiss in getting on the motorbike this
year. Lots of excuses for this, but none of them matter, so seeing as
I needed some "digestive products" to maintain my old bones (psyllium
fiber, twice daily), I made a short run on the FJR to a neighboring
town to pick it up, as the local stores didn't have my favorite brand.

Only about 16 miles each way, but it was enough to prove I need more
time in the saddle to get back to any sort of familiarity with the
FJR. The bike also seemed awesomely powerful, the way it usually does
on the first ride of the year...

Now the challenge is to get the missus sparked up with some enthusiasm
for a weekend away on the bikes, probably we'll default to a jaunt
from the Twin Cities down to La Crosse Wisconsin. Lots of great riding
in that region, and if any of the UKRMers ever get back over here
(post you-know-who, naturally) I'd be happy to lend them a bike for
a couple of days riding in the Driftless Area.

Apart from the French run to Sedan, I am just about keeping my hand in
with Blood bike runs (in between FUBARd back and gout.

Think how I fell when I change from the Peg to XJR each spring :-)

I have no issues with getting Jean away on the bikes for week/end, it
just usually means the pedal kind :-) (Cycled from Newcastle to Hull 2
weeks ago, incorporating a helicopter rescue for a cyclist and getting
    SMIDSYd myself).

Sounds nice. Maybe, one day, I may return to that neck of the woods.

We've definitely been out on our bicycles more times this year than
on motorbikes, but neither of us is up to doing a ride of that length
    just yet.

I hope all escaped unscathed from said SMIDSY?

Smashed his mirror with my arm, my pannier took his rear bumper off and
    I did a graceful step off. :-)
