Thanks for that, since the Met Office one went rapidly downhill with an update a few months ago, I need a new one.

I used to use the Google weather app but it recently faded and died.
Anybody know what happened there?
Banks are pretty good at doing that!

It did - but there was the option (if you gave feedback on the new one)
to retain the older version[1]. So, I am still using the 'classic' one
and all is good :-) [2]
Chris
[1] don't know if that is still possible?

Funnily enough, I was just thinking about her yesterday. She's been gone a long time now.
I had a very strange experience the last time I saw her. Obviously, we both knew it was the last time, and so saying goodbye was tough. One struggles for the right words, and then a social anxiety sets in. I felt very emotional, of course, and as I left her village I passed a church. Though an avowed atheist,
I stopped and went in. I suppose I knew it would be quiet, and solemn, and dignified. I sat and let the thoughts and feelings wash over me. It was profound, and I'm grateful for the time and space.

As for fancy UIs, I donrCOt really care much either way, itrCOs the accuracy of
the information that matters most - for me anyway.
Wow. I don't remember that post. But looking back, the lump may not
have actually been caused by that, and the smileys now jar.
And more recently someone recommended Yr (the Norwegian nation weather service), which is free to use and does work globally. ThatrCOs pretty good too for accuracy.

I generally find the Met Office forecasts to be the least accurate anyway.
As someone that works a lot outdoors, itrCOs noticeable.
I find the Apple Weather app is a bit better (uses global data sources).
However, I got pointed towards Open Weather when I was experimenting with watch faces. Turns out itrCOs actually pretty good with forecasting accuracy - again, multiple global data sources.
And more recently someone recommended Yr (the Norwegian nation weather service), which is free to use and does work globally. ThatrCOs pretty good too for accuracy.

I used to use Yr a lot, many years ago. It was the most accurate in the Americas. Then it went off form.
Maybe I need to revisit it?

I often check them all to see how they are with what's happening now,
and also for later in the day.
In general, they all can be spot on, or not - as we know, weather
prediction is a bit of a black art. None of them can be fully accurate
to a particularly local level - especially in the UK, and not for more
than a couple of days anyway.
But, of them all Met Office is consistently the least accurate.

Up on our ridge, the rain often bypasses us. It can be raining a few
miles away either side of us. Particularly noticeable during the drought last year. Tantalising, it was, when I wanted a drop of rain for the vegetables in the raised bed. Gave up on them in the end as we are on a water meter.
