Well, that just about finished off the the rear on the XJR, pretty sure
    it managed 8k.

Well, last time I bought one was 2017, And it is/was a BT23

I presume the current equiv is now the BT33?
Or is it the BT32? I'm not getting much joy from the BT site, it just
tells me the size not the model.

Alternatively I am sure people will now tell me to but Avon or Michelin.

I had BT32s until last month when I switched to Michelin Road 6s. The
BT32s lasted about 6000 miles. I think BT33 is the current one but I'm
sure there will be stock of 32s around a better price.

Conti Trail Attack. Last set lasted 38k km (over 5 years or so) on my
Tiger 800 XCX. 95% road usage though. Now on my second set.

well, they call then T33 now

I used a set of T31 on the R1200RS. They were okay but not as good as the
Avon Storm, 3D that were discontinued when Goodyear closed the UK factory.

No idea about the T32 and recently introudiced T33.

Frankly, there is not a really bad tyre in the sport touring sector. As CT says, go back one revision from the latest tyre and you save cash.

The other thing, this time of year, is availability. That's how I ended up with T31 instead of T32 as the latter went out of stock.

Looking at XJR forums people seem to like the Michelin sport 6.

Yeah, hopefully popping in to the local tyre man tomorrow, I think I'll
go with what I am used to with the Bridgestone. I tried Avon and
Michelin about 20 years ago, wasn't happy. So will stick with what (to
    me) works.

According to their website they have T32 in. Fuck me, tyres are more
    expensive than 2019 :-)
