If you still have Claude installed then you may want to have a look at this. <https://www.theregister.com/2026/04/20/anthropic_claude_desktop_spyware_allegation/>

Claude Desktop for *macOS*. I am using Claude Code CLI on W11. I may
still have desktop on one other W11 box, so I will check that.

Could well be similar issues with CC CLI I suppose, but I don't even (knowingly) let Claude change any code file (even one line) without
explicit permission. It also has to seek permission every time to build
the latest version of the code using Developer Powershell.

I will search for suspicious looking files buried away

Looks like a weakness in Chrome which other 'apps' could exploit.

I certainly am not even contemplating using one of the Clawdbot/Openclaw things.

The good news is that the new VB .net NHCA Timing software is
substantially complete. In BETA testing in parallel with the legacy
Excel/VB .net system at the first event of the year, it arrived at the
    same results.

Downloads the event entry list from a spiffy thing that Mr Wilson has
created and uploads data to web pages. The web side of things could be
greatly enhanced and made more mobile friendly, but I am concentrating
on capturing accurate times with lots of audit trail logs of all the
messages arriving from the clock and plus debug info generated by the
software (port open/closed, config changes etc.) Local data currently persisted in JSON, which given the number of runs at even the biggest
event seems adequate for now. Might go to some flavour of SQL at some
stage, but even the most unlikely edge cases are dealt with [1] and if
all else fails times can be entered 'by hand'.

Couldn't have done it without assistance from Claude, well certainly not
in the number of hours I have spent on it. I know enough VB and have
coded using it long enough to see what it's up to. I often tweak the odd
line of code myself or use the VS2026 forms designer to adjust a UI.

[1] Though I suspect as more BETA testing is done one or two 'once in a
    blue moon' scenarios might surface.
