• This week's exciting tractor update

2nd time trying to post this, apologies if you see it twice.

Got back with another car load of tools and parts to fit.

Started with getting the front axle beam carrier, front axle beam, left
and right kingpins and both front wheels. Tractor looks like a tractor
again. Bonus, the tyres no longer rub against any of the metal bits
since I'd rebuilt both sides with new bushes and bearings etc.

Next up the cooling system - checked the water pump and some eejit had
tried to stop the tell tale from telling any tales by wrapping a piece
of inner tube and a jublilee clip around the pump. I thought about just ordering a new seal and bearings etc. but then a whole new pump was only thirty quid so went with that instead.

After fettling some bracketry for the alternator conversion (instead of
a dynamo) the whole cooling system - radiator, new hoses, new
temperature gauge etc. were all in place. I even had an excuse to use
the fancy laser level tool again to check all the pulleys were in line.

The plan was to start it up again, get the whole engine warm, check for
any nasty leaks etc., then hopefully under its own power drive it out of
the garage and back in again front wheels first to give a bit of space
to start working on the stuff at the back.

Spent a little while clearing up some of the inevitable tools and crap
all over the place, and sorted a few little other jobs and then fetched
a watering can full of water. No antifreeze as this was a first fill to
    see how it goes.

Not sure how much water it holds, but seems quite a lot. The 2 gall
watering can was nearly empty, then I noticed a jet of water coming out
of the radiator about half way up.

    Arse.

Currently trying to find a used one here as new ones are about 3 weeks delivery.

In the meantime have started to take a load of bits off the back and
there's a few nasty seized up bits that are going to need attention.

1 step forward, 2 steps back.

    Ho hum.

    <latest latest update>

Cobbled together a radiator and ran it around the garden for the first
time. Still several jobs to do before I can put it to real work

Amazing you can still get a new one - or are they rebuilt units?
Used to be a place in London that would re-core anything, including
    motorcycle radiators.

OK, as long as you nobody is standing behind it.

Then will it be a case of 'mow, baby, mow', or will it be sporting a
hedge cutting attachment for its first sortie ?

My local radiator repair guy seems capable of fixing any fault,
pretty much will build one to suit if needed.

So with all the new parts, is it still the same tractor? (Trigger's Broom).

By weight, definitely. I've hardly scratched the surface. But the
    component count is still growing.

Luckily I'm not doing a conkers restoration.

Nomatter, it was the replacement of 'concourse'[1] with 'conkers' that
    had me wondering and commenting.

I gave up on it a few months ago when it seemed the vast majority were pro-Brexit.
