• ok I had a look to see what all the vibe coding fuss was all about

    tl;dr
I got this up and running in less than 24 hours:

    https://query.nhca.co.uk

After we've started putting hillclimb results in a proper database, it
was interesting to start doing a bit of analysis.

I tried (and failed) to find an app that was ready built. The nearest
(free) thing I could find was Metabase - it was ok, but, didn't work at
    all on mobile.

I've wanted to learn how to build a mobile app that could "do stuff"
connected to a database for a long time but, well, erm, <eyes glazed over>.

I've worked with dev teams that build this kind of stuff a lot so I knew
    a lot of the buzzwords.

I threw them at Claude. Stuff like responsive front end, React, REST
Python API, connect to Postgres, source controlled in git (proper CI/CD pipeline), and deployable with Docker.

And then some info about what feature(s) I wanted, starting with the
"Personal Best" query you see here.

With the teams I've worked with, this would have taken probably a whole
    two weeks to do.

I've no idea how it works in the background, it certainly seems more
than "guessing what the next thing to say would be" and the output
pretty much did what I asked. Yeah the UI could be (and will be)
improved, I specified nothing at about fonts and colours.

I'm impressed. I think $250billion (current estimated value of
Anthropic) might be a bit optimistic. Their running costs are crazy.

    Swanky.

This. Did you use an .MD file?

GPWM. They will probably jack the price of tokens or plans up massively
if they become the recognised king of coding AIs. That plus vastly
restricting the number of tokens a free plan allows.

Nope. But one was produced for me. Along with deployment notes, tests, container healthchecks and other associated gumpf.

I can see it being strangely addictive. I can cancel at any time

Another candidate for AIA. AI Anonymous. Though that may be the future
for Claude and it's ilk. Really should be AI Users Anonymous. Perilously
near a much loved UKRM question.

Which put me in mind that we need a new acronym for what we are doing,
    which ISN'T Vibe Coding.

Rapid Artificial Intelligence Aided Design - RAIAD, doesn't trip off the tongue and might be confused with RAID.

AIASE (think CASE) not quite right either.

PAID might work for those with at least a Pro plan.

I saw something the other day about a dev who used up his (only) $20
budget because his simple "alarm" app intended to do something in the
morning had been coded by Claude to check a weather service to ask "is
it morning yet" which it did every 30 minutes all night, using a token
    or two every time.
