Serious injuries to cyclists in London are at their highest since records began, according to new data, as the risk of serious injury whilst cycling
    has also increased.

The latest statistics, initially presented privately to a Transport for
London safety panel, also show a significant increase in the number of
injuries sustained whilst riding hire bikes in the city as their popularity
    has surged.

TfL say rCLit is still too early to make any firm conclusions based on this provisional data,rCY as reported by The Standard.

In analysing these statistics, there is a risk of drawing conclusions from
a narrow portion of data. In particular, the rise in the number of people seriously injured whilst cycling can be attributed to the large rise in the number of people cycling in London.

up 43% on pre-Covid levels as Transport for London hails the impact of high-quality cycle lanes

[But, if one scrolls down to the rCyCycling riskrCO graph, itrCOs patently obvious that risk levels for cyclists have remained flat since 2010, apart
from a lack of data for the three years of the Covid pandemic (did cycling
    stop for those three years??)]

[And note that in that article, the following is linked:]

[So cycling in London is up 43% and casualties are up 14%]
