Pioneering Oxford cargo bike courier company Pedal and Post has shut down,
just months after expanding the eco-focused delivery business into London.

In a statement issued on social media, the company rCo founded in 2013 by CEO Christopher Benton rCo announced that both its Oxford and London branches
have closed following the loss of a major client earlier this month.

Benton also confirmed that Pedal and PostrCOs entire workforce of 60 people,
a mix of employed and self-employed staff in the two cities, have been made redundant.

    That's very odd.

Especially given the frequency and vehemence with which we used to be
assured (in this very NG) that those "Stop Me And Buy One" circus clown
bikes were the delivery option of the future.

    How tragic (not).

    How tragic.

Were they actually off the dole anyway?

Yes, it seems like the visions of the future for cycling made during the
covid outbreak have come and gone, in a typical but perhaps also
unsurprising boom-and-bust scenario. Bike shops are closing and
    manufacturers are scaling back.

You just donrCOt hear any of that rCylast milerCO stuff any more, even in the big
    cities.
