Crossbow killer Kyle CliffordAs older brother is also a murderer serving
a life sentence for killing a teenager in a road rage attack.

Bradley Clifford flew into a rage when a bottle with smashed on his
oprizedo Ford Mustang car, and launched into a pursuit of moped rider
Jahshua Francis, 19, and his pillion passenger Soban Khan, 18.

After a 20-minute high-speed chase through the streets of Enfield, north London, Clifford rammed his car into the moped.

Mr Francis miraculously survived after being thrown through the air, but
    Mr Khan was fatally injured.

    Twenty minute high-speed chase?

Either that was the fastest pedal ctcle on the planet or that Ford
Mustang had a slipping clutch or something.

In the tight roads around Enfield, a Ford Mustang might well be at a disadvantage!

Since when was a Moped a pedal cycle?
I (and others I would assume) tend to think of these as small (capacity) motorbikes which can be propeled by pedals but in the main they are motorbikes.
    Or am I being "whooshed"?

Since when was a Moped a pedal cycle?

    Since always.

Being capable of being driven via pedals is the definition of a moped.

'Being capable' is not the same as this was how high speed chase
    conditions were attained.

If not satisfied with an answer, always re-read the question first. The question here was a general one: "Since when was a Moped a pedal cycle?"

    And the correct answer is:

"Ever since mopeds existed, because a moped has to have pedals which can
be used to propel the vehicle; that is part of the definition of a moped".

A particular case cannot affect the definition.

    HTH.

Look at the specific wording of "Category Q", different from that used
    in the previous two.

That change would not be necessary if the two previous categories were
subject to the same requirements as "category Q".
