    It made me feel old when he described the class 91 as rCyold technology with
    a lot of characterrCO rCo it sounds positively quaint.

    I remember them being promoted as the exciting new, high tech Electra
    140mph IC225 locos, full of innovation.

    Yes, that! I remember someone (Uncle Roger?) writing about giving talks
    and laying 8 pennies out on a table, representing the contact patch between wheels and rail after theyrCOd both deformed very slightly, and then telling people that a class 91 transferred 6000 hp through that area.

    As a teenager, I remember being very disappointed when I discovered that
    they didn't have regenerative braking.
