As the article says, after volunteering there he then added some >Talyllyn-based characters and storylines to subsequent books in the series.

I have been watching some of the TV comedy series that is set around the time of the Beeching closures - 'Oh, Dr Beeching' I think.Richard Spendlove, one of the writers, worked for BR for many years
It could almost be considered a documentary about British Railways!
