I don't think there is any doubt whatever that the quickest, most
efficient way to find the most comfortable spot in any house is merely
to let a cat loose in it. In this case two cats prove the rule by
    finding the same space. QED.

Aw, they are so cute, I remember when my last two used to curl up tigether - then later they seemed to really dislike each other.

This morning I looked out of my bedroom window and there were 2 pure white cats
on my lawn - I thought the neighbour only had one. One was patting and scratching at something, the something would startle it and it would jump back then repeat the patting. The other was just sitting there, watching.

takes a small kitten about two minutes from scratch (pun intended) to completely subjugate it's new human servant.

Ooops! A grocer's apostrophe crept in there. If a cat had made a similar mistake, it would put its nose in the air and sashay away saying "I
meant to do that - just testing to see if you were awake."

I have enjoyed being a servant for many years, it is actually, as far as I can see, much easier than looking after a dog.

I do like dogs, a close friend always had dogs ( these days she spends several days a week looking after her daughter's dog who is always pleased to see me) and both daughters have a dog. One Visla, a big soft mutt who things he should
be a lapdog ( his head fits not much else) and a little French Bulldog. They are adorable, but so needy. :-)

My granddog (somewhat ignominiously named Tom - more suited to a cat) is
a large, black rescued Greyhound. He also thinks he is about the size of
a chihuahua and is never happy unless he is lying across one or other of
us when I'm visiting. He's always puzzled when I'm there as he doesn't
know which of us to lie on - so he takes us in turns. Not as needy as my step-daughter's old Dobermann though. He slept under a blanket and used
to wake her up to replace his blanket if it fell off - he never mastered crawling back under it again. A bit like his namesake - Scoobie-Doo - he wasn't the brightest, but he usually got what he wanted.

My mate's neighbour had a black and white Inspector cat somewhat
similar. My friend and I were laying a slab drive way for his father and
the neighbour. The cat came out and examined each completed slab with
great thoroughness, and then went back in and
waited for the next one. It got to be a standing joke - "You can't start
that job yet - the cat hasn't checked the last one." I don't know what
would have happened if it had disapproved of any of our workmanship.

Dexter is only slightly smaller than any greyhound I have met, so I know exactly
how Tom behaves.:-) Ruby on the other hand, is shoorter than our last two cats
were ( George in particular was a large - not fat, but tall and long - one) weighs twice as much and also doesn't fit too well.

Once my daughters met up with their dogs in a park, and while there met someone
with puppies - the father was a Vizla and the mum a Frenchie. WOndering just how they managed it. :-)
