    Happy New Year to everyone.

Whatever happened to FN? I used to pop in here fairly regularly - for a
long time FN seemed to be keeping the group going singlehandedly. I
enjoyed reading about Marvin's visits - and then Mollie arrived and I
think was showing some signs of dementia or similar. And then nothing!
I tried checking through previous posts but nothing to explain FN's disappearance.

    Can anyone put me right?

I can't put you right, but I too have noticed his absence.
A few months ago I noticed a similar thing, and posted like you have.
That time FN popped back saying that real life had got in the way, and
that he was fine. I am not sure about how long he had been absent then.
Let's hope that he is fine. I know he posts on other groups, or systems,
but I don't know any details.

Thanks, Peter. I noticed the above. That was in August. I even
downloaded older messages on AstraWeb so that I could trawl through them.

Not really Oliver. I just got fed up with virtually no other posts in
here and occasional 'sarcastic' posts re: kitty posts, so I thought
that a period away just might allow someone else rejuvenate
ups. Seems like I was right. :)
Anyhow here's an update. I'm quite modified now with a couple of
cataract repairs, heart pacemaker, and a recent diagnosis of 'mild', so
they say, diabetes type 2, and taking a plethora of pills daily, I'm
quite hating living with that, otherwise I'm OK. Apart from that and
major changes in Oz and Buckinghamshire we're OK here. The "Boss"m
Mollie enjoyed her 15th birthday yesterday with lot's of extra cuddles
and lots of her favourite food, Gourmet Gold Tuna, She's now totally in control and keeps me in place. Seems like she's my carer. I woke up in
the middle on a couple of occasions recently to find her on my pillow
giving my hair (what's left of it) a good wash. Seems like the shampoo
and conditioner she uses is far up-market compared to my 'Wash 'n Go'.
One eyed Marvin still visits 3 or 4 times a week, usually
mid-morning but occasionally around midnight too. He seems quite
healthy, but is quit skinny now. Poor Mollie is still quite in awe of
his ability to leap up onto window sills an climb up on to shed roofs.
She goes on window sills indoors but has to achieve that is two stages.

Very pleased to hear that you, Mollie and Marvin are all OK - thriving
    by the sounds of it.
It does seem a bit busier in here.
Do I take it you will be entering Fantasy F1 for the coming season? I
have the usual mixed feeling about it all - I thought all the "hype"
couldn't increase much but it has. Money always seems to spoil sport.
Lovely here just now in London - a beautiful Spring day.

Nice to know you're still around, FN. It makes those like me that are

P.S. I was worried about the cats too. It's not easy for an elderly cat

Welcome back, FN. Like Bob, I am well past my "three score and ten" and
I did wonder if you had shuffled off this mortal coil. I am delighted
to find out I was wrong.

Don't worry about the plethora of pills - I look at my collection as
things to keep me alive, and they are working so far. To me every day
above ground is a good day.

I have a relative with type 2 diabetes. She has found that avoiding pre-prepared food and cooking everything from scratch and eating at
specific times makes it easy to keep under control. I have got her used
to batch cooking. It doesn't take any longer to cook several portions
instead of one, eating one meal on the day and putting the rest in
portions in the freezer gives her meals she can just microwave from
frozen on days where she is busy on other things.

    Jim
